and for-profit assisted living, nursing facility,
developmentally-disabled, and subacute care providers that
care for more than 1.5 million elderly and disabled
individuals nationally.

protecting the health and safety of people - at home and
abroad, providing credible information to enhance health
decisions, and promoting health through strong
partnerships.
FDA's mission is to promote and protect the public
health by helping safe and effective products reach the market
in a timely way, and monitoring products for continued safety
after they are in use.
The purpose of this
section is to provide visitors with information relating to
Medicaid and Medicare certified nursing homes throughout the
United States. It includes information on payment and patient
rights, and a nursing home checklist which will help you
evaluate the nursing homes that you visit. A
full-service professional organization representing the
nation's 2.6 million Registered Nurses through its 54
constituent state associations and 13 organizational affiliate
members.
A
constituent of the American Nurses Association is the only
nursing organization representing ALL of nursing regardless of
specialty or practice area.
Established in
1983 through legislative action to ensure public health and
safety through a program that provides close monitoring of
nurses who are unsafe to practice due to impairment as a
result of misuse or abuse of alcohol or drugs, or both, or due
to a mental of physical condition which could affect the
licensee's ability to practice with skill and safety.
An advocate for
residents of nursing homes, board and care homes, and assisted
living.
Founded in 1978, the National
Hospice and Palliative Care Organization is the oldest and
largest nonprofit public benefit organization devoted
exclusively to hospice care. NHPCO is dedicated to promoting
and maintaining quality care for terminally ill persons and
their families, and to making hospice an integral part of the
U.S. health care system.
The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast was born of the
thoughtful pledge made by a few dedicated volunteers 25 years
ago -- a pledge to improve end-of-life services for the people
of Pinellas County -- a pledge to value all aspects and phases
