Nurses are not permitted to practice without proof
of current licensure. If you do not have your new license by
the expiration date you or your employer can check to
determine if your license has been renewed.
All
Florida-licensed RN’s and LPNs are now in a 24-month renewal
cycle and must complete 25 hours of appropriate continuing
education during each renewal period.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recognition period is
for twenty-four months. In order to renew provider status,

otherwise present a danger to the public shall be prohibited
from practicing in this state.

IPN is to ensure public health and safety by providing an
avenue for swift intervention/close monitoring and advocacy of
nurses whose practice may be impaired due to the use, misuse,
or abuse of alcohol or drugs, or a mental and/or physical
condition.
The sole legislative purpose in enacting this part
is to ensure that every nurse practicing in this state meets
minimum requirements for safe practice.
